Amazing, Posts on Consecutive Days!

SuperDad or SuperVillain?

This picture is from the pumpkin patch almost 2 months ago. I just got around to posting it. I am on one of those gigantic inflatable slides. Addie and Kaela both really wanted to go down it with me. After I climbed the absurdly tall stairs with them, they both started freaking out at the top. "I want my Daddy!" "I don't want to go down!" So I grabbed them both and we went sliding down, both of them screaming and crying. Luke took a picture of us at the bottom. You can see the feet of the kid coming down the slide behind me. That kid slid right into me right after this picture was taken.

Granny's Got a Gun...

Tonight, Addie started singing a song that seemed to combine several songs together. It started out, "Granny's got a gun, Oh what fun it is to ride in a one horse open sleigh!" Here is a picture of Addie at her Thanksgiving feast at school. I gave Addie a cookie, it broke in half and half of it fell in the floor. Addie picked up the floor half and gave it to the kid next to her. Nice. Most of the kids thought Thanksgiving was someone's birthday because there were cupcakes involved. 3 year olds are so funny.

Fantasy Sports Update

I know you all are as excited about this as I am:

These are my fantasy football league standings. My team is Alaska SomethingBetter. It was originally called Alabama SomethingStupid, but I changed it once my team started kicking butt. Zoe didn't like the old name. My team started out 0-3 and was 2-4 before my current 5 game winning streak. That is Mark's team in first place, so we might as well call this the Benz fantasy league since Mark and I are dominating. I think I am pretty lucky to be in 2nd place since my top 2 draft picks (Rudi Johnson and Lawrence Mulroney) are really bad. It does help to have the #1 fantasy player, Tom Brady.

My team has resumed where they left off last year - in first place! Ye Olde Scurvy Dogs is a little point guard heavy (Steve Nash, Chris Paul, Baron Davis, Leandro Barbosa, and Kirk Hinrich), but I have some overperforming centers keeping me competitive in all categories.

This is a new post

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been on vacation. I did work out a few times on vacation. I ran on a treadmill twice (I ran 3 miles on Friday!), and lifted weights once. Running on a treadmill is definitely easier than running in my neighhood, which is all hills. Yesterday I lifted weights at home, and I was surprisingly strong! I benched 275 11 times and 285 9 times - neither of which I had ever attained before! I wonder if I was stronger because I was well rested from sleeping in all last week and only lifting weights once, or if working out on those machines last week actually helped me with my bench press. According to my chart, benching 285 9 times translates to a one rep max of 362. Not bad for my third set, when my muscles aren't full strength. Maybe it is because I gained some weight - I am up to 189! Well, I was until this morning when taking a dump 2 hours after every meal for the past 2 days caught up with me - this morning I weighed in at 185.5. It must have been the insane amount of food I ate in Disney World.

I've given up on my vertical leaping quest. I am still doing squats and leg presses, but they don't seem to be helping me jump higher. I guess I am too heavy now. My quads, glutes, and calves are bigger and stronger though. Doing squats definitely builds muscle, especially in da booty. I've ripped huge holes in two pairs of shorts this summer with my booty while doing squats. I hope you have been entertained by this post - I think it is funny.

Rachel is home sick today. Please pray that she feels better.
